Grimm (グリム Gurimu?) is the deuteragonist of The Hunters Guild: Red Hood manga series. She is a huntress who works for the Hunters Guild.

Appearance[]

Under normal circumstances, Grimm takes on the appearance of a short girl with shoulder length blonde hair. During that time, she wears a red hood and green leather boots, with her suitcase attached to her back. When she reverts back to her original form, she appears as a tall, muscular woman, and her hair becomes significantly longer. When in her adult form, it's revealed that her boots are actually part of her pants, and that she is wearing a celeste colored shirt tucked into her pants. Additionally, it can be seen that she has a rather curvaceous figure, with ample breasts and wide hips.

Personality[]

Grimm is a direct no-nonsense person. She prefers to act in a professional manner, not caring about any sorts of comments that people may make about her child-like appearance.

Grimm sees her job strictly as a way to earn money, not thinking of herself or her fellow hunters as heroes. This extends into her perception of werewolves, as she does not believe there is anything "good" or "evil" about their eating habits. However, she has an intrinsic sense of duty, since she doesn't want people to live in fear of monsters.

Synopsis[]

History[]

At some point in the past, Grimm was cursed by a witch. This hex transformed her into a child, and only with the Layer Clock is Grimm able to revert back to her true form temporarily.

Part 1: Werewolf Hunting[]

When Grimm gets her new job at Kasoka Village, she meets a young boy named Velou. He guides her along and eventually helps her take down the werewolf that was hiding in the tiny hamlet. She offers Velou some words of advice and an opportunity to join Grimm on her travels defeating all sorts of monsters.

Abilities[]

Grimm is quick

Grimm races through the forest.

Keen Intellect: Grimm is capable of deducing the hidden truth when the situation calls for it. Using what is most likely previous experience, she informed Velou that the Werewolf was hidden amongst the villagers. She was also able to debunk the story of the Mayor's Wife, while using the Hound's Muzzle.

Enhanced Agility: Grimm is able to quickly and nimbly traverse across terrain faster than the average person could; as shown when she was tracking down the werewolf, and Velou could barely keep up with her.

Grimm hits Naraoia

Grimm hits a werewolf with bell.

Immense Strength: Grimm is physically very strong in her adult form, seeing as she was able to lift and use Kasoka Village's steeple bell to strike a werewolf all by herself.

During her battle against Lycaon, she further exhibited tremendous strength. She was able to survive a direct blow from the massive werewolf, and held his gigantic hand up to stop him from crushing her.

Weapons Expert: Grimm has a variety of tools and weapons with her at all times. She is knowledgeable in both how they work and when to use them, being extremely confident during their use.

Great destiny: Through the use of the True Book, Red Hood made Grimm destined to be the next Red Hood. Because of this, Grimm was destined to succeed from the very beginning. However, due to Velou and Hech influence, Grimm's fate was altered.

Equipment[]

Grimm has a variety of weapons and tools at her disposal. She carries all of them within her suitcase. Some of Grimm's various devices are part of The Hunters' 616 Tools and are provided by the Hunters Guild.

Hound's Muzzle Hound's Muzzle (猟犬の鼻 Haundo Mazuru?) is a gun attachment that is capable of analyzing blood and bones to determine who or what they came from.
Grimm uses her clock device Grimm uses the Layer Clock, which is attached to her left thigh, to transform back into her adult form. This transformation, however, only lasts for three hours and can only be used once a day.
Pocket Chimney Pocket Chimney (煙幕パイプ Poketto・Chimunī?) is a smoking pipe capable of creating a smokescreen.
Grimm's grappling hook Grimm has a grappling hook that she uses to quickly maneuver around.
Happily Ever After explosive This unnamed explosive device was used by Grimm to blow up Mialli from the inside. It has the words: "Happily Ever After" written on it.
Grimm holding a Chekhov Series gun Grimm has a Chekhov Series (狩人の銃 Chēhofu・Shirīzu?) firearm at her disposal. This is a double-barreled rifle that has immense firepower compared to normal guns. Currently, this gun is in the possession of Velou.
Grimm using Gas Shells Gas Shells (痺気蜃 Gasu・Shēru?) are clams that emit a pungent gas as a self-defense mechanism.
Chain of Sapience Chain of Sapience (知恵の鎖輪 (サピエンス・チェーン) Sapiensu・Chēn?) is a long metal chain that Grimm uses during her fight against Lycaon. She uses it to attack and maneuver around him, and also wraps it around some rubble to create a make-shift ball-and-chain.

Trivia[]

  • Her name is likely a reference to the Brothers Grimm.
  • Her design appears to be inspired by Little Red Riding Hood, a fairytale character whose grandmother was eaten and replaced by a talking wolf. This could also be the inspiration for the Chief's wife (referred to as "Granny" by Velou) being the werewolf in chapter 1.
