Velou (ベロー Berō?) is the main protagonist of The Hunters Guild: Red Hood manga series.
He is a starry eyed young boy whose dream is to become a talented huntsman. Even though Velou isn't particularly good at hunting, he still tries his best to achieve his dream. He finally gets an opportunity to see how the real world of hunting is when the mysterious huntress Grimm comes to Kasoka Village to help exterminate the werewolf hiding nearby.
Appearance[]
Velou has messy pink hair, accented by a fishtail braid, bright green eyes and fair skin. His casual attire consists of a winter coat, a plain undershirt, black pants and shoes, a red scarf and brown gloves.

Personality[]
A kindhearted youth, Velou tries to help and protect his village the best he can.
He has a strong sense of justice, wanting to do things because they are good and the right thing to do. This mindset is both a blessing and a curse, as it has made Velou fiercely loyal to the people he cares about, but also naïve of the world around him.

History[]
Velou was born in the small hamlet of Kasoka Village to unnamed parents.
Years ago, Velou's parents were slaughtered by a werewolf, but the Mayor of Kasoka managed to kill the werewolf and avenge their deaths; which led Velou to look up to him and aspire to become a strong and kind huntsman like him.
Ever since, he had a desire to help the mayor and the other villagers; and decided to learn from the mayor how to chop wood, so he could split firewood for everyone in the hamlet.

Velou notices the window.
Highly Observant: While investigating the mountain hut with Grimm, Velou was quickly and easily able to poke holes in Mialli's story, by noticing the size of the window and the cobwebs still present on the window sill. He was also able to discern Bikjoe Bonkers' true intentions after spending time with him.
Memorious: Velou has been shown to have an unusually good memory, as he was able to remember every single person in his village. He used this to his advantage, by using it to pinpoint who exactly the werewolf hiding amongst the villagers was.
Velou is able to tell who the werewolf is.
Basic Hunting Knowledge: Velou is fairly proficient at hunting, having learnt the basics of it from the mayor. He has been shown to be able to hunt down and kill smaller animals, like a rabbit.
He also seems to know his way around firearms, seeing as he wields a musket of his own and used it in inventive ways during the fight against Mialli.
Magic[]
Fate nullification: Velou's unique ability granted to him by the Mayor. There is a field around his body made up of a special magical energy. This field nullifies the story threads, also known as the chains of fate, around him. Due to this ability, Velou's fate cannot be controlled by the True Book.
