Wolfonium (狼鉄鋼 (ヴォルフォニウム) , Vorufoniumu^?) is a metal that exists within the world of The Hunters Guild: Red Hood.

The Hunters Guild holds the manufacturing method for Wolfonium as a trade secret.

Properties

Wolfonium is a material that possesses the same properties as silver in terms of halting werewolves' regeneration abilities; but unlike silver, Wolfonium is capable of piercing a werewolf's hide. Meanwhile, it also possesses properties that make it heavier and harder than lead. According to Grimm, Wolfonium bullets are strong enough to kill in one shot so long as a vital organ is hit.

Because of its properties, Wolfonium requires a significant amount of gunpowder in order to fire and be effective. As a result, only the Chekhov Series are capable of using the required amount of gunpowder to fire a Wolfonium bullet and effectively injure a werewolf.
